Demetria C. Howard
Demetria C. Howard is a dedicated attorney practicing in the areas of family law, child protection law, wills and probate. She is a certified Mediator and Guardian Ad Litem. Demetria is licensed in Texas and Virginia, her home state. With a strong belief in community service and in empowering clients to move forward, Demetria has made significant contributions in her legal career spanning over a decade.
Demetria is a member of the Family Law, Child Protection and Alternative Dispute Resolution sections of the State Bar of Texas, the Family Law Section of the Virginia State Bar, the Family Law Section of the Dallas Bar Association and the Texas Bar College.
Demetria graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Government from the University of Virginia, where she developed a passion for understanding societal issues. She continued her education at Texas State University, earning an MPA, focusing her research on the quality of municipal services in minority communities. Her commitment to social justice and advocacy was further honed at North Carolina Central University School of Law, where she earned her Juris Doctor (JD).
During her time at NCCU Law, Demetria distinguished herself as a leader, chairing the Moot Court Board and actively participating in the Women's Law Caucus, advocating for gender equality and mentorship within the legal profession. Her dedication to legal excellence and community service has been a cornerstone of her career.
Demetria currently serves with the Legal Aid of Northwest Texas’ Children’s Advocacy Project and she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
